31 January 2023 - The Cyber Security Portfolio from Unified National Networks Sdn Bhd (UNN) now includes PenTest-as-a-Service (PTaaS) as part of its continuous effort to support the digitalisation of Brunei under Brunei Vision 2035 (Wawasan Brunei 2035).
Today, 15 December 2022, a 1Gbps Fixed Broadband Proof of Concept (PoC) will be launched in a joint effort by the telecommunications industry to transform Brunei into a smart nation, aligning with Brunei’s Wawasan 2035 and Digital Economy Masterplan 2025, and readying Brunei to be a Gigabit society.
Aimed to boost data capacity in the SEA region and upgrade local capacities, a consortium of telecommunication companies comprising of UNN and four other telecommunications companies signed agreements to invest for a submarine cable system in Southeast Asia on 07 November 2022.
On 01st September 2022, DST, imagine, Progresif with support from AITI and UNN activated the Broadband Uplift program with the aim to raise the fixed broadband baseline speed for all subscribers to at least 50Mbps, an initiative to champion the nation’s progress towards transforming Brunei into a Smart Nation, aligned with the Digital Economy Masterplan 2025 and Wawasan Brunei 2035.
While the nation’s infrastructure is 5G-ready, it is important that the industry players are also ready. It is crucial for the relevant handset vendors and telecommunications service providers (DST, imagine, Progresif) to be aware of the types of devices that are compatible with Brunei’s network.
