Unified National Networks (UNN) actively supports the concept of sustainable innovation and their initiatives which is closely aligned to Wawasan 2035 and the country’s Digital Economy Masterplan 2025.
Inspired by challenges such as climate change and global warming and driven by the need to find more greener solutions for technology which can ensure a cleaner and safer environment to benefit our future generations, UNN has decided to lend its full support to ‘Belia Tabah’, a team of eight very bright and innovative students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) who took on the challenge of designing and building driveable and energy-efficient prototype vehicles with little or zero-carbon emission.
Despite various mechanical and electrical challenges, the Bruneian team managed to enter their prototype electric vehicle into competition at the Shell Eco-Marathon event held in Lombok, Indonesia between 02 July 2024 and 06 July 2024.
Pitting themselves against many teams from Asia-Pacific and Middle Eastern countries, Belia Tabah managed to pull off a string of achievements such as winning 1st place for carbon reduction, 3rd place for the technical inspections challenge, 9th place for being energy-efficient at 285.5km/h and in-doing so breaking the national record.
UNN congratulates the Belia Tabah team for their outstanding performance and will continue to curate platforms where it can support endeavours for sustainable innovation for technology and stewardship for a greener and safer world.
