Unified National Networks Sdn Bhd (UNN) was conferred the Global Business Outlook Award 2022 for Best Telecom Infrastructure Service Provider in Brunei Darussalam during the 8th Annual Global Business Outlook Award Ceremony in January 2023. UNN was also nominated for the Best Digital Transformation Initiatives of 2022.

The GBO Awards recognizes and rewards exceptional companies’ achievements and their outstanding demonstration of creativity, innovation, and contributions to value creation domestically and globally.
Since its establishment in 2018, UNN has consistently provided an inclusive ecosystem for everyone to have access to highly resilient and high-quality network and services. The modernisation and expansion of network infrastructure took place since its inception, and as a result, to-date, UNN has successfully rolled out fibre to 92% of households in Brunei and mobile services nationwide were successfully transformed to be 5G-ready covering close to 90% of the population.
The modernisation and expansion efforts for fixed and mobile network infrastructure not only improved the population’s digital (online) experience but also supported the country’s haste to adopt to a smarter and digital nation during the pandemic. This is further verified by Ookla’s Global Median Speed Reports, where Brunei is currently ranked number 1 in ASEAN mobile internet connection, number 10 in global mobile internet connection and 85 in global broadband median speed.
Recent initiatives including the fixed broadband uplift of baseline speed to 50Mbps and the launch of 1Gbps Proof of Concept (POC) were carried out to further improve digital connectivity and our rankings globally whilst contributing to the transformation of Brunei into a gigabit society in line with the goals of Brunei Vision 2035 and Digital Economy 2025.
