18 April 2023 - Amidst the spirit of giving in the holy month of Ramadan, UNN held its first internal Ramadhan donation drive on 03 April 2023, where donations in cash and in kind were collected from UNN employees to help alleviate the hardships of socio-economically challenged families.
Teamwork and initiative are part of UNN’s core values and were applied as guiding principles for UNN employees to volunteer and participate in the company’s donation drive.
This year, UNN collaborated with Foodlife, a local non-government organization set up to implement a continuous monthly provisioning of food rations and basic needs to the needy families identified through referrals from the government and public.
Thanks to the generosity from UNN employees, donations worth B$3,700 in cash and in kind (essential items) were collected from the UNN internal Ramadhan donation drive that day and handed over to Foodlife to necessitate for the provision of essential items to a total of 150 families.
The distribution process by Foodlife members to the socio-economically challenged families have begun 11 April 2023 and expected to conclude by this weekend 16 April 2023.
“Foodlife would like to express our gratitude to UNN for their contribution to the underprivileged community in this blessed month of Ramadan. Undoubtedly, this would assist in extending our outreach and adding on essential needs including milk formula and diapers for both adults and children,” said Aisyah Murni, founder of Foodlife.
She added “We look forward to continuing collaboration with UNN and similar organizations, as well as individuals, throughout the year to support the initiative towards making a positive impact in our communities.”
